My Coaching Story

A few years ago, one of our daughters was diagnosed with ADHD, and I have to admit that I did not know much about what that meant. I started reading about ADHD and quickly realized that I was overwhelmed because there is so much information out there. I didn't know where to start and felt like I had nobody to really talk to about the challenges my daughter and our family were going through.


We began with medication, thinking that was all we needed to do. After a few years of exploring different strategies through ADHD coaching (some successful and some not so successful), we noticed changes in our daughter, and I realized I wanted to learn more about what it means to have ADHD. So, I went back to school to become a student.


I started my journey with ADD Coaching Academy and am now a certified Life Coach specializing in ADHD and family coaching. My adventure with ADDCA has transformed me as a person and deepened my understanding of what it means to have a uniquely wired ADHD brain. The most important lesson I learned is that there is NOTHING TO FIX!

My Story

My name is Venka, and I am originally from Norway. I moved to the USA as a nanny years ago and met my husband. We have been together for over 30 years and have two beautiful daughters. After college, my husband and I lived in Norway for a few years before moving back to Nantucket, where we lived for 20 years. Our journey then took us to Boston, MA, where I work as a Life Coach specializing in ADHD coaching and executive functions coaching.


In college, I studied travel and hospitality and worked as a travel consultant for 20 years. We love going on family trips, exploring new countries, cultures, and meeting new people. I also enjoy skiing (yup, Norwegians are born with skis on their feet) and being outdoors. We have the best saying in Norway: 'there is never bad weather, just bad clothing.'
